ECKSTEIN, John Johann (1736-1817), probably born in Mecklenburg.  At the Prussian Court as a historical painter and sculptor circa 1772-1794.  Best known as modeler in wax.  Death Mask of Frederick the Great.  Immigrated to United States in 1794, settled in Philadelphia.
